I missed the internet last week! Last wednesday, HH, Aleda(his sister), HH's cousins and me went to Cabiao, Nueva Ecija. HH visited his granny's(biological father side). The sun was so hot that it burned my skin badly. Im nognog again! We travelled for about 2hours. It wasnt that traffic than we expected. You know holyweek! I guess people started leaving for the province since last monday that is why traffic wasnt as heavy as it should. Anyways, we made a stop over at Shell station and bought some food at the nearby Burger king. Sounds like my Subic vacation huh?! We arrived NE around 11am. The sun was madly burning. Ive never felt this hot during this summer!
Lunch was already served when we arrived at HH's Granny's house. Everyone welcomed us. We took our hearty lunch. There was fried tilapia, grilled catfish, chicken asado, etc. Food fest again! We took a nap after eating. Talk about being piggy! When we woke up, we ate halo-halo at a nearby house and also ate some isaw. Food is really cheap in the province! We asked one of HH's cousins to accompany us to buy some pastillas for my pasalubong. Since it was Maundy Thursday, pasyon was being sung in the nearby chapel. I dont like the voice of the singer though. She's pumipiyok and out of tune! Anyways, we cant make her stop singing so we tried not to mind her. Dinner was as great as lunch. There was so much food. I ate a lot for dinner. My tummy wants to explode. hehehe Fish in the province is really good. It tastes a lot different from the fish in the city. It is more tasty and has a sweet tinge. I had a hard time sleeping at night because i can still hear the people singing pasyon. It was also hot even though we had electric fan. Some insects are biting me. I wonder how HH's family in NE sleeps at night with all these insects?!
The next morning, breakfast is already served. People there wake up so early. i think they were already up by 4am. i wonder how they wake up that early every single day!? I am used to waking up late because i always have a hard time sleeping at night. I did not eat much because my tummy is still full. i dont think ive digested the food i ate the previous day. HH, his cousins, Aleda and I went to the farm. It really is a farmland. The air is great. The view is magnificent. Trees everywhere! the fields are green and very inviting. The soft breeze blows my hair. I walked with HH on the dirt road next to the fields. I love that place. It was so quiet and relaxing. We also visited some of HH's relatives. There were lots of mango trees in their place. They gave us a lot of indian mangoes. =)
After taking a bath, we packed our bags and started loading our stuff in the car. we left NE around 1pm after eating lunch. There was no traffic on our way to Manila. Imagine, we were in Manila after 1 1/2 hours of travel time. it was really fast. we went straight to HH's new house in Valle Verde 6.
When we got in VV6, HH's mom wanted to go out. I was with HH's family and we went to Eastwood. We ate early dinner at Fazoli's. Baby Glaf(HH's youngest sister) played with me. I had a great time taking care of her. After that, HH took me home. It was a tiring vacation. At least i was able to relax before going back to work though it was pretty boring staying in the province with nothing to do. As in no internet, no landlines, no computers, no technology! It was a great time to stay away from technology at least for a couple of days! I only had my cellphone there! Thank you so much for text messaging and GPRS. Hehehe

Subic Trip
Last weekend my teammates (Jaime, Punzi, Yves, Pheng, KV) and i went to Subic. Of course HH was there with me. We gathered in the office at about 7-8am then we left for Subic. The North Diversion Road was Oh-soooo-traffic because of the road works being done. Too bad it wont be finished before Holy week so that means more traffic during that long vacation. Anyways, we stopped over at a gasoline station and bought breakfast at Starbucks, Burger King and KFC. Traffic easily subsided when we were about halfway to Subic. We arrived at the Subic gate at about 11am. We went straight to the Chinese resto near the PX Club and Royal Subic Duty Free Shops. We had our lunch there. The food was good enough since i was really hungry but still Chinese resto's in Manila are better. We travelled again goin to the Legenda Suites Hotel where we have a reservation. Since none of us knows Subic that much, most of the time, we got lost and kept on asking the policemen and traffic enforcers there. hehehe. When we finally found our hotel and got our room, we unpacked our things. The hotel room had two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a nice kitchen, dining area and a sala. We had airconditioned rooms. The view in the terrace was not so nice but at least we can have some fresh air. Bathrooms were spacious enough. Floors are carpeted. Some of us got some sleep. We, ladies, started fixing our beds so we could have our own bed. Jaime was bored so he went to the room of the girls and taught us how to play 99 which is a card game. Some of the boys went to our room to play with us. Whoever loses in the round will be hit in the hand by all the other players. Everyone was having so much fun laughing and trash talking the other players. It was really a great time that we stayed indoors until 4pm.
When the sun was almost down, we went out to find the beach. We didnt want to get so much tan that's why we went there at sundown. hehehe. Anyways, we first bought some food for our breakfast the next day then we found our way to the beach. It was a long 30min drive. Imagine how far that was and considering there's no traffic in subic. If it were in manila, 30mins drive would mean about 1km ride with so much traffic. hehehe. We arrived at the beach when it was pretty dark. The moon was already rising. We swam for a while because we did not like the water that much. Besides the fact that it's pretty dark, the water makes us itch. After an hour in the beach, we packed our things and headed back to the hotel. As usual we got lost again but luckily, the wrong turn we made made our travel time goin back to the hotel shorter. We took quick shower then went out to have dinner.
Since we didnt know where the good resto's in subic are, we called our boss. He told us about this nice resto/bar in one of the barangays in Olongapo. The place was called Mango's Grove. It was a really, really long drive from the Ulo ng Gapo. That is the statue in the middle of Olongapo City. Food service is not so good but the food is really good. A bit pricy for a provincial resto. A lot of foreigners were there at the bar. I played a round of biliards with HH. After eating we headed back to the SBMA to our hotel. We experimented our way goin back and luckily, we got home fast. It was arround midnight when we got to the hotel.
Everyone was still not sleepy so we played card games again. This time the punishment for the loser will be to drink a shot of tequila. since KV doesnt drink liquor, her punishment is to drink half a glass of water. I lost 5 times so i drank around 6 shots of tequila. I was already tipsy that HH had to wake me up everytime it was my turn to put down a card. Everyone finally decided to sleep around 2:30am. We had a great time laughing again.
The next morning i woke up early, around 7:30am. Jaime was already up. He wasnt able to sleep because the other guys in their room snored so loud. I started cooking bfast for the group. I took a bath then continued cooking our breakfast. Everyone was awake by 10am and started packing up while eating breakfast. After checking out of the hotel, we went to Royal Subic Duty Free shop.. of course to do some shopping for pasalubongs! Subic trip will never be complete without shopping. We ate a quick snack outside the Royal Subic. We started travelling back to Manila by 2pm.
We made an exit at Sta.Rita, Bulacan. Punzi suggested a nice place to eat our long delayed lunch. I forgot the name of the resto/bar but it was like PierOne in Manila. They served great food and it was pretty cheap. A lot cheaper than the resto we ate at in Olongapo. We ate sizzling balot, laing served in coconut shell, tuna sisig, sizzling chicken, seafood paella, grilled tuna belly, grilled squid. Did i miss anything else? We ordered a lot of food but our bill was not that big. Im going back to that place soon.
Pheng dropped HH and I at Annapolis MRT station.We just took a cab goin home. HH and I took our separate cabs so we can get home faster. I really had a great vacation even though it was only for 2 days. =)
