Shopaholic

It was another busy saturday for me. I did my laundry in the morning. I did another stupid thing while doing the laundry. I put too much soap in the container that I needed to redo my laundry twice. When the washing machine stopped, I was surprised to see the glass window, still full of soap! And so I turned on the washing machine again. Another bad thing about it, it caused some of the soap to spill on the floor. I had to wash off the floor so it wont be too slippery because of the soap.

I made arroz caldo for lunch and breaded porkchop with buttered veggies for dinner. I had a nice time eating. I just hope chad enjoyed his food.

At around 2:30pm, I tried to find St. Henry's church. It was the catholic church that pheng was talking about. And another stupidy of me... I wasnt able to find the church. I got lost somewhere the pier area. I had to walk my way back to Stockmann. But on the contrary, I was able to find some sale items in the shopping district of helsinki. I bought walking shoes for HH. I just hope it fits him. It was so super sale! I didnt actually believe that I will be able to buy that nice shoes for only 13euros. hehehe. great deal! My next problem again will be how to bring it home without having excess baggage?!?

Supermarket day

Yesterday afternoon after going to the gym, I went to K-Citymarket. It's a supermarket a few blocks away from the apartment. Even though chad and I had a deal that he'll be doing the grocery and Ill take care of the cooking, I still went on to a little grocery shopping. I bought some bananas, cereals, chicken, pork and veggie oil. I walked my way home carrying the shopping bag that is a bit heavy. And since my pimple somewhere kept on aching, it was harder for me to walk.

A while ago I made some pork steak. It's been a while since I ate pork here in helsinki. It tasted so good... well at least for me. I guess chad also enjoyed the food since he doesnt have a choice! haha... either he eats my cooking or starve to death! I was able to chat with HH awhile ago but only for a short while because I was busy surfing. Talk about priorities huh?! Anyways, I better go to bed now. I have a 10am mtg tomorrow. Saturday Madness

It's the first Monday I am deployed here in Helsinki all alone.  Waaahh! Ako lang pinoy dito! It's been such a lonely day for me.  Unlike when Punzi was still here, I can talk to somebody when I am a bit bored.  My head is rather heavy and I just want to sleep.  There are no urgent deadlines as of now and I hope I wouldnt experience the panic mode of my other teammates deployed here before.  I just want to go home and sleep... or even watch tv even if our cable kept on showing the same movies over and over again. 
 
Chad sprained his ankle last saturday.  He played paint ball with the other Nokians and ended up with a bandaged foot.  What is so bad about this is that I have to always help him out and be considerate about the house chores that he's supposed to do.  Ganap na ang pagiging DH ko dito sa helsinki. Hahaha. 
 
I also have this pimple growing on a weird part of my body.  I wish it had grown on my head so it will be covered with my hair.  It's so uncomfortable and painful. Grrrr!
 
Last Saturday, I went to 2 flea markets.  The first one is the market for used stuff.  Kinda like the ukay-ukay / garage sale.  But it wasnt just a garage because it was a big parking space where people sell second hand goods.  there were lots of nice stuff to buy there.  but let me remind you that everything here in helsinki is expensive.  way lot expensive! as expensive as buying a brand new stuff in the philippines.  Well, just for the heck of it, I did some window shopping. If only I have more baggage allowance in the plane, I would have bought a lot of coats.  But I wouldnt be able to wear those coats since it will never snow in manila. I was able to buy this nice silver ring for 2euros.  that will be 140 pesos and i think it's a reasonable enough price. i just hope it doesnt tarn before i get back to manila. hehe
 
Then I went to the 2nd flea market near the bay.  I'd love to go shopping here because suomi souvenirs are a lot cheaper here than in the mall.  I can buy a helsinki shirt for as low as 5 euros.  That's really great! There are also keychains, jewelries, berries, peas, etc.  I'll come back there to buy my pasalubong before I come home. There are also small foodstalls there. It's looks really fun to eat there.
 
After visiting the fleamarkets, I went to Stockmann to check out the fcuk shirts that HH's mom is requesting. Well, it was as expensive as always.  I dont know if I can force myself of buying one of those shirts considering the price.  it was way off my budget!  Though I really love fcuk's bootleg pants... costing at around 105euros or 7350pesos. wow! i could have bought 7 pairs of cheap girbaud pants. hay nako BG! stop converting to peso or else u wont be able to buy anything. and i mean anything! 
 
After a tiring day of walking and site seeing, I went home. Back to reality once again! Have to work to earn my shopping money! Hehehe

Summer in Helsinki

finally it's not so cold here in helsinki. also not so hot like in manila. just the right temperature to go out and enjoy helsinki! yahoo!
 
I arrived here last monday but I had to go straight to work from the airport. That's too mean! I didnt have a choice since I didnt have a key to the apartment and had to pick up the key from nokia house.  anyways, when i got to the office, my ofcmate was in a meeting so i had to attend his meeting too! really rude!!! when i got to the meeting, i brought with me pinoy chocolates... i think it was curly tops. guess what?! they loved the chocolates especially the ladies. according to them, it wasnt so sweet and they could eat a lot of it without noticing they had too much of choco already. hahaha.  at least the next time i come here and bring them pasalubong, it wouldnt be too hard to find something for them... not to mention it's a lot cheaper than dried mangoes. hehehe.
 
Punzi, my ofcmate just left for manila yesterday (friday).  That means I have to attend the meetings alone.  hayy... too bad!  I have no one to ask when i dont know how to answer the client's questions.  well anyways, i am looking forward to go shopping... or at least window shop today.  my allowance hasnt arrived yet so i dont think shopping will be a good idea.  i dont want to be caught dead broke here in helsinki especially everything here is a lot more expensive than in manila.  Ill also try to visit the fleamarket that punzi told me.  i hope stuff in there is less expensive.  Ill also try to take some pictures of the places im going to later. I borrowed punzi's digicam so I can take pictures if ever i decide to go to the zoo.  My ofcmates told me that there are lots of unusual animals in helsinki's zoo... might as well give it a visit.
 
at times like this, i miss home. i have no other pinoy to talk to.  my ofcmate chad, who is also my aptmnt mate is the only person to talk to. hayy... it's sad to be the only pinoy here in helsinki.

don’t blush anymore.

– Vagina or its local equivalent.

– I heard the actresses were shouting puki all over the stage.

– No wonder Ateneo banned the play.

– But women don’t have a monopoly of gender problems. Men also suffer from sexist jokes, for instance.

– Former judge Harriet Demetriou once said women are generally more honest than men. That’s sexist.

– Men also have problems with their sexuality. There are practices that are harmful
to men or boys.

– But are we ready to shout “penis!” all over the stage?

– Penis, shpenis, that’s nothing. I’d like to hear the Filipino equivalent.

– Titi sounds delicious onstage.

– Or bayag.

– Remember when we can’t even say or write, putang ina?

– Let’s thank the women for breaking the ice. What do you say we produce a play like The
