An encounter with a 9-year old

Spoke with the architect this afternoon. I even had a conference call with him and my bestfriend on the other line. It was so nice talking to them.

Work is also doing fine. Lord I can see the light! Thank you so much!

When I got home from work, the architect and I had another chat session. This time he asked me to chat with his 9-year old daughter. She's really nice. Here's an excerpt of our chat...

archt_daughter: You are daddy's girlfriend?
me: me?
me: what did he tell you?
archt_daughter: Daddy said you are his girlfriend
archt_daughter: Daddy is your boyfriend?
me: i think you said awhile ago that your dad said im his girlfriend
me: so that makes him my boyfriend
me: :D
archt_daughter: But daddy has so many friends
me: yeah. so that makes me one of his girlfriends.
archt_daughter: Tita Eunice is daddy's girlfriend also and my Mommy also before
archt_daughter: Daddy is talking to me.
me: ok
archt_daughter: He said you are his girlfriend
me: im one of his girlfriends
archt_daughter: No.
me: he has lots of friends as what you told me awhile ago
archt_daughter: You are the only one.
me: huh? i thought you said awhile ago he has a lot of girlfriends
archt_daughter: The other girlfriends are just his friends that are girls.
me: so that makes me one of them isnt it?
archt_daughter: I am confuse on the two of you. I don't understand the difference. Daddy is trying to explain to me but I don't understand.
me: dont try to understand him. dont worry.. when you grow old you'll know the difference
archt_daughter: You like my daddy?
me: like? there's a very very wide definition of the word like
archt_daughter: I don't know.
me: hmm...
me: i like you to be my friend. is that the way like means to you?
archt_daughter: Daddy said you are special to him.
archt_daughter: Do you love daddy?
me: friends are all special. dont you agree with me?
me: of course
archt_daughter: Why?
me: why?
me: why what?
archt_daughter: I asked you if you love daddy. You said of course that is why I asked why?
me: some things in life are not so easy to answer
me: the same way you cannot gauge how much you love a person
archt_daughter: You should have an answer because you are old like daddy. If you don't have answer you will not pass school.
me: :))
me: %%%%%censored part%%%%%%% hehehe.

I was still laughing when i read again these chat session. The architect's 9-year old daughter is really funny. I dont know... maybe im just getting old that's why i find her answers and questions a bit silly. But honestly, i was sweating while trying to answer her questions. I dont want to surprise her about my relationship with her father. I just hope in time if ever the architect and I will be together, she can accept me to be her mom. =) Oh I almost forgot... the finale of the chat session... the best ive ever heard from her....

archt_daughter: I will go to sleep now.
me: can you sleep without your yaya beside you?
archt_daughter: Daddy will sleep beside me in his bed.
me: ok
archt_daughter: Good bye
archt_daughter: Tita
me: bye
me: nice talking to you
archt_daughter: Can I call you Tita?
me: sure. no problem

Woooohooooooo! I got promoted to a Tita level. Hahaha. The architect find this cute and he kept laughing reading this part of my chat with his daughter.

My Eyes Are Getting Heavy

Im soooooo sleepy. I am answering this questionnaire i got from another blogsite for the sake of waking up.hahaha.

Questions....
1) What is the biggest misconception that people have about you?
- That i am sungit. Yeah at times i am sungit but most of the time im overly friendly and jolly.
2) If you could change one trait that you have, what would it be and why?
- Being indecisive. As one of my friends told me, women are fickleminded. Our decisions change more often than we change outfits. It's not that we are not ready for the concequences of our decisions, sometimes it just makes us wonder what if we made this so and so decision. It's the WHAT IFS!
3) What one thing intimidates the heck out of you?
- When someone talks and acts smarter and more intelligent than me. hehe
4) All-time favorite movie?
- Coyote Ugly. Feel good movie.
5) Name 5 things that you are thankful for.
- family, job, someone, opportunities coming my way, being alive

More Questions....

1. let's say there is one day with no rules, no law, no whatsoever. what are you going to do for a whole since there will be no inhibitions?
- Fly to cebu, go to the architects office, kiss the architect torridly in front of his staff. hahaha.
2. who is the one person you look up to most and why?
- My lolo. He was successful during his time... career, family, friends, etc. And then we just found out few weeks ago that my lolo has an illegitimate son. it did not change the way i look at him though. he's just human and has weaknesses too.
3. what is the one thing you have now that you consider priceless.. why?
- Having my family. they're the ones i draw my strength from.
4. if there's one thing you can change about yourself, what would it be and why?
- My being ill-tempered when im tired. People complained that when im mad, my words are really sharp and i hurt people. I seldom get mad but when i do, i cant control my anger.
5. LOVE or MONEY? pls expound.
- right now, i would choose money. Right now, i cannot give up my job (which gives me my money) for love. I know there will come a time that i can give up everything i worked hard for. But when that right time comes, it must be with the right man, the right place and the right moment.

1) What do you think people should know about you that they don't?
- People think that im tough. Well i have always looked tough to other people in those times when i was really in distress. But honestly, i also weep and pour my heart out during those instances. I just dont let them see me crying or even let them know i cried.

2) Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
- I should be married and with at least 1 kid. I dont know if im still in manila but i do hope im somewhere else.

3) What do you consider to be an ideal partner?
- My ideal partner would be someone who loves to see me happy. He should understand me and the things that i want to do with my life. He should be patient enough to handle my moodswings and endless inarte. He should be someone interested with what's happening in my life and asks how my day was. He should be someone who loves to talk to me and that he would never get tired of getting to know who the real me is. Here is an excerpt of the blog i made a year ago about the man i would love:

I can't search for Mr. Perfect. It's an impossibility in a world of imperfection populated by imperfect individuals.

I want a man made strong by circumstance and trial. With faith, not just religion. With ability, not just bookish knowledge. With silent confidence, not loudmouth arrogance. With street smarts and not just a degree. A sense of humor that laughs even in the darkest of days and occasionally in the face of danger.

A seasoned man with a truly good heart. Someone who knows the difference between spoken and unspoken words in women. Someone who will put my best interest over and above his own and will have the humility to allow me to take the driver seat in moments when he knows he is not in control. Who can handle adversity with much knowhow, passion, and patience as much as he can handle a pile of dishes.

A man, made "perfect" over time by an imperfect life.

4) In your opinion, is it better to die when you still look good or when you're old and decrepit? Why?
-I dont know. It doesnt matter how long i live but how i lived my life. Even if i die young, as long as ive lived my life to the fullest, then there's no reason to be scared of dying young. If god will give me the chance to live longer and grow old, then so be it. I will be thankful for that.

5) What would you choose romantic love with uncertain future or sacrifice all for practicality?
-If i were asked this same question few months ago, i would choose romantic love with uncertain future. I have been inlove with the architect for the longest time and until now, we havent really made things work out no matter how much we love each other. I have proven to myself that it's not enough that you love someone. Love alone cant make a relationship work. It takes responsibility, care, sacrifice and willingness to make something work to be able to build a strong relationship.

End of Helsinki Week 3

Last week was a very busy week for me but we were able to deliver what was expected of us. Friday night, we went out to watch Starwars Episode 3. Of course i was excited to watch it because I was able to watch Episodes 4, 5 and 6 back in Manila few weeks before I left for Helsinki. Anakin is still as gorgeous as ever. I just love his semi-dirty bad boy look. Hehehe. Punzi and I also had dinner out before the movie at the nearby Chinese Resto.

Saturday, we woke up early to meet up with Punzi's friend from Accenture. We met up with them at the fleamarket along Boulevardi. And then we had lunch at the foodcourt of one of the malls in Helsinki Center. I just realized there were lots of pinoys eating there. Meals are not so expensive. No wonder there were lots of pinoys! hahaha. Then we took the tram 3T which goes around the city. Btw, there were eight Accenture peeps with us. They're pretty lucky because they get deployed as a big group. I never experienced getting deployed here with lots of pinoy companions. Anyway, our first tour stop was the Finnair stadium. We only saw a finnish team practicing. No real game at all. We took pictures which i am not sure if i can post here. Maybe some other time when I get the chance to shrink the big pictures. We were supposed to stop by an exhibit of www.sexhibition.fi but the guys were having second thoughts of spending big bucks for a porn show. hahaha. Next stop was Linnanmaki which is an amusement park, Finland's version of Enchanted Kingdom. The place is probably as big as EK but EK has more rides. It was nice but i didnt try any rides because a ride costs 4.50euros. I really dont find the price reasonable for a few minutes of fun. Im kuripot I know! Hahaha. After getting so tired of walking, Punzi, Cheng and I decided to leave Linnanmaki and visit Suomenlina Island, still in Helsinki. We took a tram going to the pier area and then took a boat ride to cross the other island. Suomenlina Island or Sveaborg is Finland's version of Corregidor. It used to be their military base. So as expected, we saw lots of barracks and cave-like structures. Place was nice though there is this eerie feeling when we go inside the caves. The island was pretty big that we did not have the energy to explore half of the island. Maybe some other time, I'll visit that island again. When we took the 8pm boat ride, there was this really really cute guy. He doesnt look Finnish to me. Boy watching again! Hahaha... We got back at Helsinki Central at around 8:30pm. We had dinner at Dennis Pizza House. They serve the best pizza and pasta I've ever tasted. Even better than the ones Ive eaten in Manila! Great food, fast and efficient service. So far, this is the best resto ive eaten at here in Helsinki.

Sunday was Dota day. I wasnt able to attend mass because I woke up late. Thanks for all the lack of sleep the previous days! Punzi and I spent most of the day doing our chores and playing warcraft... Dota. I think i forgot to mention that I bought my own original copy of Warcraft 3 Battle Chest few months ago so I can play in battle.net. hehehe. That's how much addicted I am to playing this game. And I almost forgot, I watched F1 race on tv. I was never a big fan of F1 until I saw Kimi Raikkonen. Such a cute Finnish guy. Hahaha. He's one of the few goodlooking men here in Finland. It's really hard to find goodlooking men here! But finnish women are definitely one of the world's finest! You better visit finland to see for yourself.

I hope I can do shopping next week. I really want to visit the shops on sale in Helsinki Center.

Helsinki week 3

Im at nokia right now. Im kinda bored because im still waiting for my sap pm to finish making the data for me. My workload is not so great anymore that's why i have free time to blog. hehehe

i think it's really over between me and the architect. he sent me this email telling me not to send him messages in his fone. and that if i want to send him messages, i better send it in his mail. i replied to his mail asking him if it's his way of telling me to get out of his life. i told him that if that's what he wants, then so be it. hayy.. i dont know. i felt so bad after reading his email. i dont understand why i still allow him to hurt me this much. i dont see any hope that our so called relationship will still get better. but i still do love him. =(

i got my secureid for nokia. yehey! that means i can work from home. hmmm.. should i be happy about it? now i dont have any excuse for not being able to work when my PM asks me to work. waaaaaahhh!

im learning to like the sap enterprise portal. after all the curse and bad words that i have said because of this ep, im starting to like it. it's just that i understand it better now. thanks to sdn!

starwars episode 3 is showing here today. yipeee! we're planning to watch it tomorrow. i just hope we can get tickets. punzi and i are watching it with the accenture peeps. you heard it right, im going out with these accenture manila people. they're also here for a project. i just hope i wont be persuaded to be pirated to their company. hahaha.

im really sleepy. i wish this day ends with a smile on my face.

Kind of life in Helsinki

I have been very busy the past weeks that I dont even get enough sleep everyday. My work here is becoming more of a burden. I dont enjoy it anymore. My deadlines are so tight. My responsibility as a developer is so big. My work environment is not so condusive to working because my Proj Manager is working onsite... He's an austrian guy who looks like ricky martin. Pogi if i may say but too workaholic that he thinks everyone else should work as much as he is.

My teammate,Punzi, and I are just trying to laugh off our weariness just to give us enough energy to go through each day of the project. But honestly, we're both tired and want to quit. =(

The architect and I, on the otherhand, aren't doing so well. We had a big fight the other day. It was because of the stupid email I sent him last week. I was so pissed at him for not answering and rejecting my calls. He didnt even send any sms or anything to let me know where he is. I was worrying like crazy but he didnt do anything. So that's the reason why i sent a stupid email stating how pissed I was at him. And incidentally, he was only able to read my email this week, last wednesday to be exact. And then he told me he wasnt able to work because of that stupid mail since he kept on thinking and pondering so much about it. He was even blaming me for being late at his daughter's bday party that's why she got mad at him. And then when I called him wednesday night, i didnt hear him pickup the phone. I was talking with my flatmate at the same time when i was calling him. During my chat with the architect, he was so angry at me. He said that i shouted at him when i called him. I think he heard me shouting at my flatmate when i called him. Hayyy... He got mad for a wrong reason. Until now we're still not talking. =(

Things I need to accomplish in the next 3 months

While im here in Finland, there are tons of things I want to do:

1. Visit Helsinki zoo --- Last year I planned to go there but unluckily, I got sick during my scheduled week to go there.
2. Tour at least 1 european country --- That is of course besides Finland and Sweden.
3. Save at least 100k from my per diem --- I was able to save as much last year, I think i can save more this year because im staying here longer. Not unless i will be on shopping spree again. Hahaha.
4. Meet the Helsinki Filipino community --- Last year I refused to attend the filipino community's gathering. This time im going to attend! Promise!
5. Buy new walking shoes --- I know i shouldnt put this in my list because i would do shopping for sure. Hahaha.
6. Visit some other mall in Finland --- Ive heard that the farther you go from the main city, which is Helsinki, the cheaper the commodities are. Maybe I'll try going to the suburbs and do my shopping in the malls there.
7. Have a picture with the gorgeous Estonian house cleaners --- My flatmates told me that these Estonian cleaners are really beautiful and sexy. Im not a lesbo ok?! But then my officemate from manila dared me to have a picture with these ladies. haha. I will surely post their pics here and see for yourself. And btw, they wear tbacks whenever they clean our apartment! Hahaha.

Ill update this list again.

Im back in Helsinki

Im in helsinki, finland again. I arrived a while ago with my officemate punzi. My canadian officemate, Chad, isnt here yet. He's still taking a vacation in Manila. I wish things on our new project won't be too hard so that i can enjoy my stay here.

For the second time, Ive escaped the gruelling heat in manila! Hehehe. The problem here is that it's actually too cold... about 4degrees. I was really shivering when I got out of the airport and walked towards the airport taxi.

It's another adventure for me being here. Til my next blog... im really tired and sleepy. =)
