On Being Attentive
I was still on the phone at 12:30am awhile ago talking to the special friend. We were playing this Q&A game. We'll take turns answering a single question. Here's one of the questions... What personality traits do you consider important in a partner? One of my answer was... "you know how difficult it is to wake me up in the morning right? I want my partner to be patient in waking me up. Haha"
This morning, he called me at 6AM to wake me up. I was expecting him to put down the phone immediately because he's supposed to go to work early too. But then he didnt.
Me: Why aren't you putting down the phone?
Him: *complete silence*
Me: Are you waiting for me to get out of bed?
Him: Yes. *1 minute of silence*
Me: Geeezzz! Fine, I am getting out of bed. How about 5 more minutes?
Him: *silence again*
Me: Five more minutes please?
Him: Ok.
All together now... "Awwww... how sweet." He's attentive about what I said last night. Fast learner huh?!

To The Guy Who Wakes Me Up Every Morning...
I know you will never be able to read this post. *Well, I am praying that you don't!* I mean, I can't tell you this. I don't have the courage yet to accept whatever your reaction will be after reading this so I'll just continue praying that you don't find my little space in the cyberworld.
Waking up each morning at the sound of your voice always puts a smile in my face even with barely 3 hours of sleep. It's just amazing how consistent you have been in letting me know that you're always there. I am so overwhelmed by this whole attention thing that you're giving me and I want to thank you for that. Even though you have not said anything nor let me know what I am to you now, rest assured that I am so getting to the point that I am looking forward to each time we talk. Even with short chats with nothing important to say, even with the long silences we have when we sort of run out of things to tell each other and just listening to each other's breathing, knowing that you're there on the other end of the line gives me a feeling of importance and care. It's funny how you're trying to plan the schedule for my trip to Vegas next weekend. It seemed that you're more excited to go on a trip than me. And then you started worrying about how we could communicate while I am on vacation in Manila. I reminded you that I have internet at my parents' home but you said you're sure I won't be home all the time and then you started researching about mobile yahoo. My trip is still more than two weeks away and you're more worried that I am! You are so driving me crazy! Even without saying anything about what we are to each other and what we really feel for each other, your actions speak of the things that I would love my man to do to me. I really thank God for bringing you to my life. I just wish I can show you now how important you are to me. =)

Befriending the Ex
Is it advisable to maintain a great friendship with an ex? Would that friendship be worth it or would it complicates matters?
I think "great" friendship is an overstatement for an ex. Haha. I am good friends with all of my exes. Seriously! I believe that even if things did now work out for both of us, we can still be civil and be friends... at least for old times' sake. It does not necessarily mean we'd still call each other regularly or hang out a lot. It's just good to know that an old flame can turn out into a good friendship unless the current gf of the ex would really go ballistic about that idea. haha. I think being friends with an ex is healthy for the two of you because you're helping each other forgive, let go and move on with each other's lives. I mean, it was easier for me to move on when i knew that the ex is still my friend and he will still be there for me as a friend. I am stressing the word FRIEND here! I guess things will be complicated if you don't draw that line between being just friends and dating each other again. Right?!

Financial Matters Between Married Couples
Should you have a joint account with your partner? And should you keep tabs on what he or she may be spending on?
My stand on money matters is that married couples should still have their own freedom. A joint account is ideal for common expenses that the couple should be paying like the house, the cars, the education of the kids, etc. BUT!!! Couples should still have their own personal accounts to finance those stuff that they want for themselves like a kick-ass luxury car for instance or a European vacation or a gift he would surprise me with. I still would love to be able to do my shopping without feeling guilty that I am spending our joint family income. Hehe.
On keeping tabs, I think that is ideal for common expenses *again!* because it lets you keep track of your monthly budget for the household. Keeping tabs of his personal expenses should not be my problem unless otherwise he gets into trouble paying his debts.

Life Transformations on TV
Tired of watching your usual reality tv shows, drama series and game shows? Do you need to find an alternative relaxation activity after a very stressful day at work? Dr. Kathleen Hall of Mindful Living Network have several tv shows in the same network that can teach you relaxation and meditation activities that will surely ease your stress. I have watched an episode of Alter Your Life and they did an activity with the Healing Runes. Each of the participants were asked to draw a stone from a bag. Each stone contains a symbol with a corresponding message from the rune symbol book. The rune symbol that you have picked represent the value that you should put importance in your life.
I know that not everybody can appreciate doing self-evaluation of where we are right now in our life. I mean most people won't find entertainment nor relaxation in those kinds of activities. But then Mindful Living Network gives you an alternative way of letting all the distractions go away and slowing down on your life through their tv shows which aims to deepen your awareness, utilize your power of choice and experience a renewing energy. You are invited to life transformations on Mindful Living through these shows. Do check out their website and watch some episodes from their shows to understand what I am talking about. I simply love it.

On Potential Mate
What are the things that you tend to focus on when it comes to sizing up a potential mate during that crucial first encounter?
I admit that how he looks like does matter. Not that I am looking for a gwapo *good-looking* potential mate but I just want him to be neat and presentable. More importantly, I am very particular about how a man treats me during the first encounter. I want a gentleman... one who opens the door for me, one who walks beside or behind me, one who would pull a chair for me to sit on, one who would offer to carry the stuff I am carrying, one who would walk me to my car, one who would move to the danger side of the road when we're crossing a street, etc. These just a few of the gentlemanly things that I sort of expect from him. Are these too much to ask? Haha.

Of Nothingness
Yesterday around 5:30PM, it rained hail in Phoenix, Arizona! Oh yeah! I saw it with my own eyes while I was doing shopping at Dollar Store yesterday. It lasted for about less than a minute. To think that the same afternoon before it rained, I checked the outside temperature from Kimi's gauge and it said 102 degrees. Weird huh?! Only in Arizona!
I am confused and scared of investing feelings to someone whom I barely know and who refuses to tell me straight in the eye *or should i straight to my ear?! haha* that he likes me. Hayyyy... I know I've been the read-between-the-lines kind of person but this time I don't want to assume anything. I don't think I am ready for another heartache... not soon... not when I just survived a heartache 6 months ago.
Speaking of the devil... he's online! hahaha. Yay!

Keep Off That Topic
Do you think avoiding a touchy topic helps or hinders a relationship?
I missed to answer last week's LoveQ so I am doing it now. Better late than never!
There are things in life that we are not ready to talk about even to our closest friend. I think not discussing touchy topics is NOT detrimental to a relationship unless it's an issue about adultery and not being faithful *haha*. I guess that's one of the challenges in a relationship... to be the bestest friend of your partner and be the most comfortable person to talk to especially those touchy topics. I know that in time when your partner is already comfortable talking about it, he will be the one to open in up. Just be patient and be understanding to him during the wait. Patience is a virtue.
*** Was reading again my answer up there... darn, someone's in love! Hahaha.

The Magic Behind Ethocyn
Dr. Chantal Burnison is the brilliant mind behind the Ethocyn molecule that helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles on skin due to aging. Her work for ethocyn molecule was originally created to accelerate the healing process of the wound until she later found out that this same molecule can be used as an anti-aging formula. She later on decided to expand her discovery by creating an anti-aging cosmetic line. This is when her company, Chantal Pharmaceuticals, was born. Chantal Pharmaceuticals produces anti-aging products that makes use of ethocyn molecules. These molecules improves the skin's elasticity by stimulating the production of the elastin fibers. Elastin fibers are the ones responsible for our skin's youthful look. Both men and women are concerned about keeping a youthful glow on their. To find out more about this product, check out ethocyn.com and know more about the benefits and why ethocyn is a better alternative to common anti-aging creams in the market.
How Do You Know He's Your Porsche?
I need to share this for my sanity's sake...
The special friend and I have been talking a LOT! Last Saturday, my household and I went clubbing at Barcelona in Scottsdale. On our way to the place, my girlfriends and I were talking to him on the phone. Before putting down the phone, he asked me to call him when I get home. But I told him I don't know what time I will be home and most probably it'll be so late. He said, it's alright to wake him up and he just wants to make sure that I got home safe. Awwww... boyfriend? Haha. Saturday night was fun. We drank and danced the night away. We left Barcelona around 2am and went straight to the nearest Denny's to eat. We stayed for a while in Denny's because my household were worried that I am still not sober because I was still red. I know! I always turn so red even with only 1 drink! Anyway, we were telling funny stories about each other and how everybody were like neighbors back in the Philippines. What a small world huh?! We left Denny's around 4AM and I took some sisters to their home before I headed home. I arrived at my condo around 5AM. Wow! Of course I called the special friend and we talked for an hour before we finally decided to doze off.
He's been so nice and extra, extra, extra caring. I am so getting spoiled with so much attention although he never said anything that he likes me or he's planning to make "ligaw" *court*. My friends were telling me that this guy likes me because no normal guy would do wake-up calls to someone everyday, stay up late every night to talk to me, call me in my office to check if I already had lunch, etc. if he's not interested in me. Awwww... I don't know... I hope my friends are right because I am really liking this person.
Now it made me think... I hope I am liking him not because I feel lonely here in AZ. As my friend told me, he's only your Camry and not your dream Porsche. You should not settle just because he's the only one available. Hayyyy.... My question is, how do you know he's not your Porsche? Should I do a test drive to find out?

Creepy Times Two

I should not be checking my horoscope in Friendster. This is the second time that this happened. Waaaaaaaahhh! So fine, if I still have baggages from my old relationships, then maybe it's about time to let it go. I sure hope this new person is the right one. Some juicy updates... we've been talking almost the whole day. Wake-up call in the morning, lunch break call to check if I've eaten lunch, he's also the last person I talk to before dozing off, PLUS... we text and we chat in between. Yay! I might get used to this attention! I just hope his intentions are real.

Getting to know me
The special friend and I are in the getting-to-know stage so he sent me a questionnaire to answer...
Favorite colors: black, brown, white, green
Dogs, cats, or other pet(s): dogs but then I will not get one unless the dog can feed himself and clean-up his mess for 3 months while im not home. haha.
and small, medium, or large: small
Wake up early or stay up late? stay up late! i think im a midday kind of person *if there's such thing!* because my brain starts to really work after 10am. Haha.
What time do you usually go to bed/wake up? In bed usually after 1am. I set the alarm at 6AM but that doesn't necessarily mean I'll be up at 6. So that's about 30mins to an hour after 6AM. Hahaha.
Ipod, CD player, or other music device: iPod baby!
Choice for car color: Silver. I like white and red too.... maybe for my next car. =)
Honda, Nissan, or Toyota (or other): Lexus! But if I didnt get my car now, I probably would have gotten a Mazda.
Small car or big car? I like big cars but with the gas price, a big car is out of the question unless I get a hybrid.
What's the fastest you've driven? (speed) Let me try to remember this... it's in my GPS which is with Digna right now. If I am not mistaken, it's around 108 to 114 mph. I'll find out when I get my GPS back.
would you ride on the back of someone else's motorcycle? Maybe... depends who's driving and how much I trust the driver.
The longest distance you have run? 5km. hahaha. That's probably the longest run I will ever make for the rest of my life.
Have you ever won a championship? Does an academic championship count? Hahaha. I'm such a geek. Not obvious right?
When you go on a trip, how many pairs of shoes do you bring? Including the pair I'm wearing for the trip, minimum of 3. Yay!
When you pack your bags, do you bring just enough or *more* than enough? Always MORE THAN enough. My friends tease me that for a frequent traveller, I don't know how to pack light. Haha.
Going to the airport for your flight; right on time or early? Always early like more than an hour usually.
Your favorite place to take pictures: Oh I can take pictures anywhere. Haha. I think the nicest place I have seen is Rome which is just a few notches higher than Paris.
The last movie you watched? (theater or home) Hellboy with SFC and YFC people.
who are your favorite actors/actresses? (movies) I like them not because they're good in acting but they're nice to look at. haha. Let's include tv series because I haven't been watching a lot of movies lately... Tom Welling, Justin Hartley *the one who played Oliver Queen in Smallville*, Wentworth Miller *actually it's his character in Prison Break as Michael Scofield that I like*
Which X-Men character would you like to play? I already answered this last night... Jean Grey... for no good reason other than she's dating the hottest xmen character, Cyclops. Haha.
Adults watching cartoons: OK or no? OK for as long as it's not the only thing they watch on tv.
The last TV show you watched (full show from start to finish)? Smallville. I can actually watch it over and over.
What do you order at the coffee shop/Starbucks? Regular hot mocha with whipped
Coke, Pepsi.. or other sodas?? I try to stay away from soda. If I really have to drink soda, it's either diet coke or diet pepsi but I like pepsi max better.
Favorite drink? Alcoholic? Smirnoff ice. I also like the house shot of Cashmere bar in Scottsdale.
What can you cook? Your typical pinoy food *eg. adobo, sinigang, etc*, pasta dishes, my edible kitchen experiments! Haha.
If you have a dinner/get-together at your home, what food will you serve?
Starters: a salad
Entree: a seafood dish *if Vhine's one of the guests, I'll probably serve chicken or beef* with pasta *but if Digna's one of the guests, I will serve rice!*
Dessert: probably a creme brulee
Would you go (play) on a game show like the ones on TFC? (Singing Bee?) I don't even know what Singing Bee is. So most likely I won't play. Haha.
Mall of choice in Manila and why? SM just because it's the one nearest my place
When you are at work, do yo listen to: music, radio, or nothing? Always with my iPod playing. I can think better if there's music.
Pen or pencil? Pencil.
Favorite colors: black, brown, white, green
Dogs, cats, or other pet(s): dogs but then I will not get one unless the dog can feed himself and clean-up his mess for 3 months while im not home. haha.

would you ride on the back of someone else's motorcycle? Maybe... depends who's driving and how much I trust the driver.
Pencil.

Someone's Liking Someone
I just have to share this...
I went to a department store during lunch to clear my head. This long weekend was a whirlwind of emotional and psychological stress. Yeah, it seems that my thriving lovelife is going to be exciting again after a long time.
I met someone in the conference. Since last week, we've been talking. And then this weekend, we were talking to each other more... and I mean MORE! He's really nice and... ummm... yeah, sweet. Yay! You know me, when someone pays a lot of attention to me and is EXTRA kind to me, I have this tendency to like that person. Oh no! Make it a big OH NO! I hate to admit it but I am liking the attention he's giving me but he lives too far away. =( Long distance relationships don't work... at least for me it doesnt. Hayyyy....
The 5AM wake-up calls, 40mins mid-day calls and the 35mins goodnight calls are really melting my heart away. Yay!
I am honestly scared. What if things dont work out and I go through another heartbreak again? These premature worries are killing me. I hope I find courage to fall again and I hope if he's the one meant for me, God prepares him for me.
So yeah... he's the reason why I am not in blogging mood the past week. Haha. Well that's besides the reason that we went out-of-town last Saturday.
