Tougher Times

I feel ashamed every time I doubt Him and question why I am going through tough times. And then the person who reminds me to just keep on trusting and have faith is the person who lost his job, who's been rejected several times and who's been in tougher times than I do. It just reminds me of how much of an ingrate I have been. I just wish I can let go of my plans and surrender to His will. I wish it were easier for me to stop worrying and have faith that He will take care of everything.

God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
As it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
If I surrender to His Will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with Him
Forever and ever in the next.

Custom Promotional Items

Every Christmas, my company would always give out corporate gift items. I guess as a consultant, that's the only gift we are allowed by most of our clients to give out because of gift price company restrictions. Anyways, couple of Christmases ago when we were still in Helsinki, our boss asked us to find a corporate gift for our clients. It was so difficult for us to do it from Europe because a lot of these suppliers are in the Philippines and they only have phone numbers to call and no websites. Gee! At that time we were eyeing thermal coffee mugs with the company logo to give out to clients for Christmas. I am just glad that Watermark Graphics has a website that allows us to do our orders online and view their promotional items. This is so convenient! Watermark Graphics even does embroidery on promotional clothing like shirts, hats, bags and a lot more. Do check them out.

Sieg

Just heard from a friend yesterday that one of our officemates in Manila passed away last weekend. OMG!!! I didn't even know that he was in the hospital battling pneumonia the past weeks/months. I had no clue. The past weeks we've been struggling with the layoffs and downsizing in the manila office. I guess this incident just wanted to remind us that life is too short. No matter how problematic and preoccupied we are with the things going on in our life, we should still find time to appreciate family, friends, loved ones, and life itself *no matter how great or not so great it is*. Life really is too short.

Sieg, wherever you are, may you rest in peace. It was an honor to have worked with you and have known you. I pray that you find peace in the hands of our Lord. I also pray that the people you have left may also find peace and comfort in knowing that you are in better place now. You'll always be in my prayers.

Nostalgia: Summer 2006 Helsinki, Finland

A long time friend and colleague showed me photos of our Helsinki days back in 2006. Hayyy... nostalgia hit me too. Was watching the video she made 3 years ago several times until I get over the feeling of missing being in europe. Hayyy.... Check out the video.

Hawaii Next Year!

I just thought that this needs a separate post. So it's official... the next SFC conference in 2010 will be in HAWAII!!! Woohoo! GG and I had this intimate conversation...

Me: So we're going to Hawaii next year for the conference?
GG: Ummm... maybe not.
Me: Why???
GG: Because we'll be going to a different conference. We're going to Houston where the CFC (Couples for Christ) conference will be held.

So it seems like he's proposing to me before the conference or better yet, we'll be getting married before the conference next year. Haha. Yehey for the last SFC conference for us! Yehey for finally meeting the right one!

Free Life Insurance Quotes

I've mentioned over and over on this blog the health care here in the US does not come cheap. So I guess your only way of affording a decent healthcare here in the US is having an insurance plan. Same goes with Life Insurance! Although this is probably the insurance that you would not want to put a claim on, might as well be prepared for anything that could happen especially if you are supporting a family. Free Life Term Quote is an independent insurance broker who can give you the most comprehensive and cheapest life insurance over the internet. Check out their free term life insurance quotes by clicking on the link.

MD-VA-DC

I'm back from my 5 days vacation... first vacation for the year! Darn! Third quarter of the year's almost ending. Anyways, the GG and I flew in Maryland! That was our first flight together outside of the west coast. It was also our 7th monthsary... yes, we do celebrate monthly! Haha.

A year ago, I met him at the conference in San Diego. And so I thought, we should go to the conference this year in Maryland since it'll be our anniversary. True enough, we were able to raise enough funds to have a vacation. Yehey! Anyways, we stayed with his brother who lives in Virginia on our first night and then went to the conference for the weekend then got a hotel somewhere close to DC area on our last night. Some things I realized during the whole trip....

1. My GG is so OC about planning a trip/vacation...
He really did his homework reviewing all the sights to see, the tours we can take, the logistics of our stay, etc. I used to be like him... now that he's in my life, I can probably take a step back. yehey!

2. He does not pack light...
I thought I was the only one who can't do this. We are so in need of practice to pack light. Haha.

3. A second digital camera is a must!
Note to self, I need to gift him with a "How to Take Decent Photos" book. Lol. It frustrates me when he doesn't take photos of the stuff I want to see in a photo so to solve this, we need a second camera.

4. He is amazed at how I barely had to fall in line at the airport
It's the elite frequent flyer status baby! Check-in at the business/first class counter. Board at any time or at same time as the business/first class. Haaa!!! I miss my jetsetter days!

5. He's proud of me...
And he lets everybody know that I am his GG. He's not ashamed of holding my hand, hugging me or kissing me in public. =)
